This wonderful recreation park, located within the city limits and set amid hundreds of forested acres operated by the Sault Ste. Marie Conservation Authority, is one of the city’s greatest natural assets. The park itself is managed by the local Kinsmen Club, and the ski facilities by The Soo Finnish Ski club.
Well-maintained nordic ski trails are open to all during the Summer Months. Enjoy beautiful white pines and waterfalls just minutes from the city. For a light walk, try the Kinsmen 2km trail or for a more challenging jaunt, the Crystal Creek trail system is beautiful. View trail descriptions.
In the Summer Months, ski trails and other forested trails are open for mountain biking. Whether you're looking for a few kilometres on beginner trails or a more challenging day trip, Hiawatha is well-equipped to meet your needs. Touring bike rentals are available at the Inn - just speak to Reception.
Hiawatha is open daily from December to March for nordic skiing. Indoor facilities are open on a daily basis offering hot and cold beverages, snacks, washroom facilities, rentals, repair, and service. Click here for a description of trails.
Dedicated snowshoeing trails are maintained during the Winter. Snowshoe rentals are available on site. Obtain a trail map at the Kinsmen Centre or click here.

The Inn is a perfect family hang-out. The kids love Club Cabana’s hot tubs and pools (we go swimming at least once a day), and there’s always something tasty on Casey’s Kid’s menu. For me, I love that there’s a fridge in every room, and that I can request a microwave...it makes small family meals a cinch.
