The Inn Doubles Down on COVID-19

The Water Tower Inn fully acknowledges the public concerns about COVID-19. We recognize we have a role to play in supporting our staff and remaining a viable option for socializing and local getaways with family and friends.
Therefore, we introduced our DOUBLE DOWN policies so you’ll feel at home when you visit the Inn.
Our regular squeaky-clean premises procedures will Double Down with consistent cleaning to all touchable surfaces using our premium Ecolab sanitary and cleaning supplies. In addition, all key cards and pens are being sanitized between use at Reception, and Housekeeping is ensuring that all room surfaces get a rigorous sanitizing treatment. Staffing has been adjusted to manage the intensive sanitation schedule.
In-Room Housekeeping: We removed all objects in our rooms that are unnecessary (ie: pen/paper, guest directory, etc.). Our Room Attendants have revised precautionary procedures for room cleaning.
Due to the declaration of a State of Emergency in Ontario, the Water Tower Pub and Casey’s Grill.Bar are closed for service. For hotel guests, a complimentary breakfast will be available for take-out from 7am to 10am. In addition, a take-out menu is available for Inn guests and the public from 5pm-9pm daily. Our staff are Doubling Down by washing their hands after each guest transaction and ensuring that we meet or exceed all Algoma Public Health standards and regulations.
Our guest greeting and appreciation policies, which are normally animated by hand shakes and pats on the back, are now distanced by 2m. We’ll Double Down on the warmth and courtesy of our hospitality to get over the COVID Blues.

We have posted signage and request that all guests please do a self-assessment before entering our premises. If you have a fever, or are experiencing a cough or shortness of breath, please do not enter. We have hand sanitizer available for guest use upon entry to the Inn. Our staff and other guests (many of whom move goods on the supply chain) appreciate your consideration.
At The Water Tower Inn, we believe prudence and adopting a Double Down attitude and practices will get us through this period of stress as positive and informed public.

I rarely complete reviews, but I feel that your hotel staff were excellent. We were travelling home during this Covid-19 crisis and needed a place to stay to take a break from driving. Your host was welcoming and professional. There was great signage and clearly visible instructions on not only what you were doing, but what i was to do in handling myself as a customer. The rate was fair and the host was obviously caring in her description of where and how to park, and gave us a room close to our car to ease with my family getting in and out. The atmosphere was ghost-like, but very clean. The cleaning staff was in the area both at night & in the morning cleaning high traffic areas and the hotel. The room was as expected, clean and everything worked. My kids downloaded movies for the next days trip using the wifi and my wife enjoyed a clean shower. The next day the staff was personable, and we were given a bagged breakfast for the road. They clearly cared for their customers which I greatly appreciated in a time where corporate banality is the norm. I like that the hotel is a unique example of the hard-working, thoughtful and caring people who own and run it. I chose to stay there because I had once stayed there as a motorcyclist where I too was given personal attention.
